A digital portfolio-based authentic assessment model has proven effective in monitoring and enhancing students' writing literacy development in Indonesian language learning. This research was developed by Sehe from Universitas Cokroaminoto Palopo in August 2026, holding high urgency to address the limitations of conventional assessments that only orient toward final outcomes without continuously recording student learning processes.

Writing skills represent a core competency requiring a continuous process ranging from planning, drafting, feedback, revision, to reflection. Various literacy challenges in Indonesia reinforce the urgency of implementing more meaningful language learning and evaluation models oriented toward long-term development.

The research used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, encompassing the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The study involved 120 students, 4 teachers, and 3 expert validators, collecting data through interviews, observations, questionnaires, portfolio documentation, and writing tests analyzed descriptively quantitatively, via N-gain, and paired t-tests.

Analysis of the data reveals several key findings:

  • The digital portfolio assessment model obtained an expert validation score of 92.13% under the very valid category.
  • The average writing literacy score of students increased from 64.18 in the pretest stage to 82.48 in the posttest stage.
  • The overall improvement reached 18.30 points with an N-gain score of 0.51, classified as a moderate improvement.
  • Statistical testing using a paired-samples t-test proved a statistically significant improvement with $t(119) = 16.84$ and $p < 0.001$.
  • The highest improvement was recorded in the mechanics aspect at 19.30 points, followed by content and organization aspects at 18.40 points each.

The implications of this research provide substantial benefits for education, especially Indonesian language teachers, to shift from single product evaluation toward a comprehensive process evaluation system. Sehe from Universitas Cokroaminoto Palopo emphasizes that the integration of authentic tasks, draft documentation, teacher feedback, and student reflection within a single digital platform can systematically and longitudinally document competency progress.
