BANDAR LAMPUNG — Human resource management within the educational sector is increasingly required to focus not only on academic competencies but also on the psychological equilibrium of educators facing complex workloads. This phenomenon prompted Claudia Puspa Puspita and Zainnur M. Rusdi from Universitas Lampung to conduct an intensive study in 2026 regarding the relevance of work-life balance to professional teaching quality. This scientific publication, released through the East Asian Journal of Multidisciplinary Research, outlines a strategic overview of how essential an educator's emotional stability is to creating continuous instructional quality in schools.

The professional demands on educators in the modern era are no longer limited to inside the classroom. Teachers are mandated to complete an extensive array of administrative tasks, curriculum development, and institutional accreditation requirements that drain considerable time and physical energy. These vocational pressures have the latent potential to trigger role conflicts and compromise psychological stability if they are not balanced with adequate time for personal life. Such imbalance frequently results in professional burnout, which directly impacts teaching standards and diminishes student academic achievements.

To evaluate the correlations among these operational variables, the research team from Universitas Lampung implemented a quantitative approach with a causal design. Field data was gathered by distributing structured questionnaires to 190 teachers working across 11 A-accredited State High Schools throughout Bandar Lampung City. The respondent selection was configured using a purposive sampling technique with a minimum employment tenure of two years to guarantee that the accumulated insights were robust and contextually accurate. The collected data was then evaluated via partial least squares structural equation modeling to analyze both direct and indirect structural pathways.

Statistical testing verified that work-life balance plays a highly positive and significant role in dictating teacher performance, both directly and through the mediating path of job satisfaction. Teachers who successfully synchronize their professional mandates at school with their private obligations at home demonstrate superior emotional resilience, enabling them to operate with optimal focus, classroom creativity, and productivity. This operational equilibrium triggers a profound sense of job satisfaction, causing educators to feel appreciated, enjoy their professional ecosystem, and maintain strong intrinsic motivation to deliver their best instructional performance.

These field findings carry strategic implications for shaping educational governance policies and institutional school management in Bandar Lampung. Given the profound magnitude of job satisfaction, school administrations are strongly advised to manage teacher workloads proportionally. Practical measures include setting predictable activity schedules, allowing sufficient rest periods, and implementing constructive, open communication channels to minimize workplace anxiety. Schools should also establish reward structures to celebrate teaching accomplishments, fostering a highly collaborative and supportive culture.

Investing in the psychological comfort of teachers is proven to not only safeguard individual mental well-being but also serve as the structural pillar for advancing long-term institutional education quality. When harmony between institutional objectives and workplace happiness is realized, an ideal learning ecosystem naturally follows, ultimately driving up student performance metrics on a broader scale.
