Teacher performance in junior high schools is heavily influenced by a combination of principal leadership, organizational culture, and work motivation. This was revealed by a team of researchers from Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa consisting of Lilik Nur Kholidah, Sudadio, and Cucu Atikah in a study published in August 2026. This research is crucial for formulating comprehensive strategies to improve educational quality through structural and personal approaches within the school environment.

National educational quality relies heavily on teacher professionalism in the classroom. However, the effectiveness of teacher performance does not stand alone; it is strongly determined by how principals provide leadership direction, build a conducive working environment, and spark the enthusiasm of educators.

This study employed a statistical analysis approach to examine both direct and indirect relationships among variables using survey methods and field data collection.

In-depth data analysis substantiates several key findings:

  • Work motivation exerts a dominant influence of 51.70% on improving teacher performance.
  • Principal leadership provides a significant influence of 22.90% on teacher performance.
  • Organizational culture contributes significantly by 12.40% to teacher performance.
  • Simultaneously, these three factors provide a remarkable joint influence of 87.00% on teacher performance in schools.

These findings confirm that efforts to improve educational quality cannot be handled partially. According to Lilik Nur Kholidah and her fellow researchers from Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, enhancing teacher performance requires a systemic approach that touches upon structural aspects—such as leadership style and work culture—alongside personal aspects in the form of motivational drive. Practically, policymakers and school principals must be able to create a supportive and inspiring work environment so that educators can make an optimal contribution toward achieving national education goals.
