Employee performance in the five-star hospitality sector is heavily influenced by both physical and social working conditions in the workplace
The tourism sector in Bali is supported by hundreds of star-rated hotels concentrated in the Badung Regency area
To examine these issues, the study applied a quantitative approach involving the entire population of 30 Hilton Bali Resort employees through a census method
The analysis of field data highlights several key findings:
- The physical work environment proved to have a partial positive influence on employee performance with a calculated $t$-value of 2.201, exceeding the $t$-table threshold of 2.052
. - The non-physical work environment contributed a much stronger partial influence with a calculated $t$-value reaching 4.668 and a beta coefficient of 0.627
. - Simultaneously, both work environment dimensions jointly had a significant impact on performance with a calculated $F$-value of 35.814, explaining 72.6% of the variance in employee performance achievement
.
These findings provide strategic implications for the hospitality business world that psychological conditions, harmonious interpersonal relationships between superiors and subordinates, and adequate physical facilities are the primary foundation of work productivity
