In 2026, a community service team from Universitas Alwashliyah Medan led by Joharsah and her colleagues successfully implemented a community-based legal education program to strengthen constitutional awareness and national identity for Indonesian youth in Malaysia
Background and Context
Living abroad requires young Indonesians to not only adapt to the legal system of the host country but also to adhere to constitutional values and identity as Indonesian citizens
Implementation Method
To address these challenges, the service team applied a Community-Based Participatory Approach at Sanggar Bimbingan At-Tanzil, Kuala Lumpur
Main Findings
Based on evaluation results published in the Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Bestari, this program proved to deliver significant positive impacts:
- Participants showed a clear increase in understanding regarding constitutional principles, rights, and obligations of citizens
