Effective communication and a strong organizational culture play a critical role in driving employee performance within religious educational institutions. A study conducted by Abdul Rahman Safiih, Budiman, and Nopi Oktavianti from Universitas Pamulang between September 2025 and February 2026 examines the core determinants of workforce productivity at Darut Tauhid Islamic Boarding School in Tangerang.

The study was motivated by a concerning downward trend in the average employee performance score at the institution, which dropped from 80.0 in 2023 to 76.0 in 2024, and further declined to 73.0 in 2025. This decline spanned across five key indicators: work quality, work quantity, punctuality, work effectiveness, and personal responsibility. These issues stemmed largely from suboptimal internal communication gaps and the need for stronger organizational values within the workplace.

To evaluate these variables, the research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive-verificative design. Given the manageable population size, a census sampling method was utilized, incorporating all 50 staff members of Darut Tauhid Islamic Boarding School as respondents. Primary data was gathered using structured Likert-scale questionnaires and evaluated through multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, and F-tests.

Statistical findings revealed the following key insights:

  • Communication effectiveness exerts a positive and significant effect on employee performance, featuring a strong correlation coefficient of 0.771 and a coefficient of determination of 54.1%. The t-test yielded a calculated t-value of 7.529, surpassing the t-table threshold of 1.667.
  • Organizational culture similarly has a positive and significant impact on performance, registering a strong correlation coefficient of 0.783 and an explanatory power of 61.2%. The t-test produced a calculated value of 8.388, exceeding the 1.667 t-table benchmark.
  • Simultaneously, communication effectiveness and organizational culture jointly account for 61.2% of the variance in employee performance, with the remaining 38.8% governed by external factors. The simultaneous F-test generated a score of 37.118, which is considerably higher than the F-table value of 3.195.

These findings confirm that improving internal communication clarity and reinforcing institutional cultural norms establish a more disciplined, cooperative, and productive work environment. School management is encouraged to host routine coordination meetings, expand two-way communication channels, and implement structured performance evaluations alongside transparent reward systems.
