A 2026 study by Mursanto, Edy Mahfuz, and Abdul Kadir from Universitas Islam Kalimantan Muhammad Arsyad Al-Banjari Banjarmasin highlights that work discipline, motivation, and the work environment significantly improve employee performance at PT Multi Sarana Agro Mandiri. The findings matter as companies increasingly rely on human resource quality to stay competitive.

The research focuses on employees of PT Multi Sarana Agro Mandiri in Kotabaru Regency, conducted in September 2025, involving 43 employees as respondents. The study is important because it addresses real workplace challenges, including weak teamwork and inconsistent performance levels within the company.

Employee performance remains a central issue for many organizations. Without strong discipline, motivation, and a supportive environment, companies struggle to achieve optimal productivity. In this case, improving internal workplace factors becomes a strategic priority.

The researchers used a quantitative survey approach by distributing questionnaires to all employees. The collected data were analyzed using statistical methods to identify how each factor influences performance.

Key Findings

The study reveals clear and measurable results:

  • Work motivation is the most dominant factor influencing performance
  • Work discipline has a strong positive impact on employee output
  • Work environment also significantly improves performance
  • All three variables simultaneously influence performance with a contribution of 81.1%

Detailed statistical results show:

  • Work discipline: significant effect (t = 5.942; p < 0.05)
  • Work motivation: strongest effect (t = 7.268; p < 0.05)
  • Work environment: significant effect (t = 2.872; p < 0.05)
  • Simultaneous effect: very strong (F = 61.081; p < 0.05)

These findings confirm that employee performance increases when discipline is enforced, motivation is strengthened, and the workplace environment is supportive.

Implications and Impact

This study offers practical insights for companies:

  • Management should prioritize employee motivation programs, as it has the strongest influence
  • Work discipline systems must be enforced consistently to improve productivity
  • Work environment improvements—such as comfort, communication, and facilities—can directly enhance performance

Mursanto from Universitas Islam Kalimantan emphasized that stronger motivation encourages employees to work more enthusiastically and achieve better results. Meanwhile, discipline ensures consistency, and a good environment supports daily performance.

These findings are relevant not only for the studied company but also for other organizations aiming to improve workforce productivity.
