A community service team from Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik led by Hadi Ismanto and colleagues successfully implemented a digital entrepreneurship training program for 35 students at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Brondong, Lamongan Regency, on February 1, 2026. This program is vital to bridge Generation Z's high digital literacy so it can be utilized productively as an instrument for economic value creation and business profitability enhancement based on local marine potential.

Although Generation Z possesses high technological familiarity, most students previously used digital devices solely for communication and entertainment, rendering them suboptimal as business development media in the Minapolitan Brondong fishery center area. Through the Participatory Action Learning (PAL) approach, this program summarized a series of activities ranging from needs identification, socialization, interactive workshops, mentoring, to evaluation. Training materials covered Design Thinking, digital marketing, social commerce, Business Model Canvas (BMC) formulation, and digital financial management.

Based on evaluation results, the program recorded several key achievements:

  • The participants' average comprehension score increased from 56% during the pre-test to 90% during the post-test, resulting in a competence increase of 34 percentage points.
  • The highest increases were recorded in Social Commerce and Digital Financial Management aspects, each jumping by 37 percentage points.
  • As many as 85.7% of participants gave a "Very Good" rating to the overall program implementation, and 91.4% stated that the material was very beneficial for their entrepreneurial readiness.

According to Hadi Ismanto and the Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik team, digital entrepreneurship success does not solely depend on technological mastery, but rather on the ability to integrate it with mature innovation and business strategies. This program successfully shifted students' mindsets from mere technology users to potential digital entrepreneurs capable of elevating the competitiveness of local marine processed product SMEs in coastal areas.
